Mohs Surgery
Mohs surgery (technically known as Mohs Micrographic Surgery) is the
most successful method ever developed for the treatment of skin cancer.
Mohs surgery has the highest cure rates of any form of skin cancer
treatment. Cure rates exceed 99% for many cancers. The risk that a
cancer will grow back following Mohs surgery is ten to forty times less
than the risk after other types of treatment.
Surprisingly, Mohs
surgery can achieve these higher cure rates with smaller, less
destructive techniques compared with older, less precise methods of
treatment. This can mean lower total costs. For most people Mohs surgery
is very easy to under go right in the doctor’s office using a local
anesthetic.
