Tobacco Cessation
Welcome to Bend Memorial Clinic’s Tobacco Cessation Resource Center. Disease prevention is an integral part of BMC’s TotalCare™ philosophy which is why we place great importance on tobacco cessation. No product is more responsible than tobacco for disease states in its users and those exposed to its use by others. In fact, tobacco is the only legal product on the market that, when used as directed, is proven to lead to life-threatening complications.
At BMC, we understand the challenges faced by those addicted to tobacco. We know according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, 70% of smokers actually want to quit1. And we know how to help them in this all-important health and lifestyle goal. Our primary care providers are trained to consult with smokers in a non-judgmental manner and to assess smokers’ readiness to quit. We know that the combination of medical consultation, pharmacological aids and group support is the proven path to the greatest quitting success2. We are here to provide Central Oregonians with all three of these steps to a happier, healthier life.
This page is dedicated to providing the information necessary to understand BMC's Tobacco Cessation program and how to take the steps necessary to stop using tobacco.
