BMC In The Community

We do more than work here. We live here. We play here. We raise our families, gather with friends, help our neighbors and coach Little League.

As active participants in the communities we serve, BMC supports, participates in and is dedicated to many charitable and non-profit Central Oregon organizations. We’re committed to the welfare of people in all stages and walks of life. And it shows in our activities, our sponsorships, and the time, treasure and talent our employees give as volunteers, board members and donors. Take a look at some of the many ways we’re making a difference.

BMC Cascade Cycling Classic

The BMC Cascade Cycling is the longest consecutively run elite stage race in the country and has attracted most of North America’s top cyclists and teams over the years. The quality of the race courses, the beauty of Central Oregon and the fun atmosphere of the race has made it a perennial favorite and has the competitors returning year after year in July.

BMC Munch and Music

The BMC Munch & Music free concert series was founded in 1991 by Cameron Clark Concert Productions to provide families of Central Oregon with the opportunity to gather and strengthen the bonds and associations of the community while enjoying the arts, outstanding food and free music once a week. With a safe, energetic and positive gathering, we are proud to provide dependable opportunities for youth to gather, work, volunteer and take pleasure in their community. It is our intent to accomplish all of this in a way that is completely respectful of the adjacent neighborhood.

Healthy Beginnings

Healthy Beginnings believes that all children should enter kindergarten healthy and prepared to learn. Their work fosters healthy, nurtured children, families and communities by bringing accessible physical, developmental and behavioral screenings to children from birth through age five. These screenings happen year-long in various locations around Deschutes County.

United Way of Deschutes County

The United Way focuses on knowing what’s happening in the community and finding ways to connect people to the programs and services they need. They partner with 26 agencies in Deschutes County that work to directly impact four important focus areas: Basic Needs; Youth on Track, Safe from Violence & Abuse, and Great Start. They inform the community about these critical issues through our annual fund-raising campaign and the Days of Caring event. Our theme: LIVE UNITED, encourages all of us to give, advocate, or volunteer. Simply put: Our goal is to raise awareness, inspire action and create lasting change.

Kids Pole Pedal Paddle

The U.S. Bank Kid’s Mini Pole Pedal Paddle is a fundraiser for the Mt. Bachelor Sports Education Foundation. MBSEF is a non-profit organization that’s mission is to be the Northwest’s leading youth sports training organization, promoting the positive values of competitive sports including Alpine and Nordic Skiing, Snowboarding and Cycling. Teams of six participants each ranging in age from 1st to 6th grade compete in river rafting (with a rafting guide), biking, an obstacle course and a run.

Volunteers in Medicine (VIM)

Volunteers in Medicine Clinic of the Cascades is a nonprofit medical clinic serving low-income, uninsured families in Deschutes County, Oregon. They care for people who do not qualify for the Oregon Health Plan or Medicare and have no insurance of any kind. They do this by engaging volunteer doctors, nurses, therapists, pharmacists, interpreters and other community members who have a passion for our mission and demonstrate the “Culture of Caring” and kindness on which the VIM Clinic was founded. Many of BMC’s providers volunteer their services for VIM.
