Since 1988, the Dermatology Department at Bend Memorial Clinic has worked to optimize and improve skin health.

James M. Hoesly, MD

Dr. Hoesly has been at Bend Memorial Clinic since 1988, certified by both the ABIM (American Board of Internal Medicine) and ABD (American Board of Dermatology). Dr. Hoesly graduated from OHSU in 1982 and completed Internal Medicine Residency at the Providence Medical Center in Portland Oregon. He subsequently completed his Dermatology Residency at Mayo Clinic in 1988. Dr. Hoesly has received extensive training in the diagnosis and treatment of skin disorders as well as skin cancer surgery.

Gerald Peters, MD

Dr. Peters joined Bend Memorial Clinic's Dermatology department in Summer 2005. Dr. Peters is a Board Certified dermatologist who received his MD at the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine and completed his residency at the San Antonio Uniformed Services Health Education Consortium. Dr. Peters specializes in Skin Cancer Surgery. Prior to joining BMC, Dr. Peters completed his fellowship in Micrographic Surgery and procedural Dermatology at Deaconess Billings Clinic in Montana, where he was also a staff physician.

Alyssa Abbey, PA-C

Alyssa received her Bachelor's degree from University of Oregon, Eugene and her Masters of Clinical Medical Sciences from Barry University, Miami Shores, FL, where she also completed her Physician Assistant Program. Alyssa joined the Dermatology team in March 2007, where she provides many related services.

Alyssa is a member of the American Academy of Physician Assistants and the Oregon Society of Physician Assistants.
