Surgery
After growing up in the Pacific Northwest and Austin, Texas, Dr. Christante returned to Oregon almost ten years ago in order to surround herself with the unique Oregon Community and environment. Dr. Christante began practice at BMC after completing her surgical residency at Oregon Health and Sciences University in Portland, Oregon. During her training, she spent two additional years in clinical and basic science research focusing on Surgical Oncology. She received her Medical Degree from the University of Texas Medical School at Galveston and earned honors for academic achievement. Prior to her medical training, she attended Pennsylvania State University where she earned her Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology and was a Division I scholar athlete.
Dr. Christante treats a wide variety of general surgical conditions including benign and malignant breast disease, melanoma, gastroesophageal reflux, simple and complex hernias, as well as diseases of the gallbladder, colon, and rectum using both conventional and minimally invasive techniques. She is particularly interested in advanced laparoscopic procedures, colorectal surgery and Surgical Oncology. She participates in the Mastery of Breast Surgery program and serves on the St. Charles Cancer Center Breast Program Leadership Committee. She is board certified by the American Board of Surgery and a member of the American College of Surgeons as well as the American Society of Breast Surgeons.
In her spare time, she enjoys the incredible outdoor activities of Central Oregon in all seasons, reading, traveling and spending time with family and friends.
