Dr. West is a native of Northern California and came to Bend from The University of Texas, where he was an Assistant Professor in Cardiology and Cardiac Electrophysiology. He served as Director of The UT Imaging and Arrhythmia Diagnostic Center as well as Consultant in Cardiac Electrophysiology to MD Anderson Cancer Center. He holds professional memberships with the American College of Cardiology, American Heart Association and Heart Rhythm Society. He is board certified in Internal Medicine, Cardiovascular Disease and Clinical Cardiac Electrophysiology and specializes in heart rhythm management with special interest in AFib and ventricular arrhythmias.
Dr. West completed his Internal Medicine residency at The University of Washington, and Fellowships in Cardiology and Cardiac Electrophysiology from the University of Virginia. He graduated with his Medical Degree from Vanderbilt University School of Medicine and his Bachelor of Sciences degree from Stanford University. He believes it is wonderfully rewarding to have the opportunity to improve someone’s life and eliminate suffering. Dr. West is committed to quality care, having served in quality assurance positions at the Oregon and Texas hospitals, as well as the state level in Texas.
In his spare time, Dr. West enjoys the rugged beauty of the west, fly fishing and raising his little girls.
