Hospitals & Surgery Centers

St. Charles Health System, a private, nonprofit Oregon corporation, began in 2001 as Cascade Health Services when St. Charles Medical Center in Bend merged with Central Oregon District Hospital in Redmond. Today, in addition to owning and operating medical centers in Bend, Redmond and Madras, they lease and operate Pioneer Memorial Hospital in Prineville.

We work closely with St. Charles to accommodate our patients when they are in the hospital. Many of our specialists do hospital rotations or perform surgeries and operations out of St. Charles. We also have Summit Health Hospitalists who serve on behalf of our primary care departments while patients are in the hospital.

Bend Surgery Center is Bend Oregon’s first freestanding ambulatory surgery center. Developed in 1997 by Central Oregon physicians, they perform more than 12,000 cases annually.

Several of Summit Health’s departments complete outpatient procedures at Bend Surgery Center.

Redmond Surgery Center performs a broad range of outpatient surgical procedures ranging from oral surgeries to GI procedures.
