Summit Medical Group Oregon (SMGOR), the largest independent multispecialty physician group in Central Oregon, and CORA (Central Oregon Radiology Associates), the premier medical imaging practice in Central Oregon, today announced they have entered into a professional services agreement to begin in early 2020. Under the agreement, SMGOR’s radiology services will be provided in conjunction with CORA to improve the efficient delivery of care, quality outcomes and patient experience.

The agreement will streamline operations for SMGOR through the utilization of one community-wide Picture Archiving and Communication (PACS) system, enabling providers in the community greater coordination of care. The agreement will also bring dedicated collaboration and focus on enhancing quality outcomes and patient experience for patients and their families. SMGOR patients will be able to access their medical images via MyChart online patient portal.

“We are extremely excited about working with CORA and renewing our decades-old relationship with such an exceptional radiology group and a true leader in quality and patient satisfaction within Central Oregon. This relationship further strengthens our commitment to exceptional quality within the community while reestablishing a longstanding relationship between two members of the Independent Practice Association,” said Russell Massine, MD, Chief Physician Executive, Summit Medical Group Oregon.

“For over 70 years, CORA has offered innovative techniques, treatments and procedures delivered by fellowship-trained, board certified radiologists, growing to become the largest and leading medical imaging company in Central and Eastern Oregon” said, Traci Clautice-Engle, MD President, CORA. “In our continuous pursuit of offering a high-quality medical imaging experience that is efficient, comfortable and accessible, we are delighted to work in collaboration with Summit

Medical Group Oregon to provide comprehensive community based radiology services – from diagnostic radiology to women’s imaging to vascular and interventional radiology and everything in between.”

“Looking ahead, the upsides of this agreement are multifold,” said Justin Sivill, Regional Chief Operating Officer, Summit Medical Group Oregon. “Working together will help streamline and enhance the coordination of care between medical groups in the community by standardizing the platform and process for viewing images throughout Central Oregon. Further, the collaboration between our medical staff and the radiologists will improve the efficient delivery of care to our patients. This collaboration will also offer SMGOR patients future service offerings focused on providing the best overall quality while controlling the total cost of care for our patients in the community.”
