Dr. Erickson traveled cross-country from Massachusetts to join Bend Memorial Clinic in Oncology and Hematology. He received his degree from the University of Iowa College of Medicine, Iowa City, Iowa and completed his residency in Internal Medicine at Fletcher Allen Health Care, University of Vermont, Burlington, Vermont. Dr. Erickson completed his fellowship in Hematology and Medical Oncology at the University of Virginia. He is board certified in Internal Medicine, Medical Oncology and Hematology.
Prior to his move, Dr. Erickson was a partner at Hawthorn Cancer Center for thirteen years and the Director of the Laboratory on site. Although his professional interests span the realm of oncology, he has particular interest in care for solid tumors like lung, colon, breast, and pancreas; and a special interest in hematology. He is passionate about caring for patients who have benign hematology as well as blood born cancers like myeloma, chronic leukemia, lymphoma, and myeloma. His society memberships include American College of Physicians, American Society of Hematology and American Society of Clinical Oncology.
He and his family chose central Oregon as a place to live and practice medicine for the same reason so many others have; the love of the outdoors and the family friendly atmosphere of the high desert.
