Dennis Hughes completed his undergraduate degree from Indiana University. After working as a microbiologist for a number of years, Dr. Hughes decided to attend medical school at Rutgers New Jersey Medical School. He completed his residency in Chicago at Northwestern Memorial Hospital. Dr. Hughes is board-certified in Internal Medicine.
Dr. Hughes is grateful for the daily opportunity to care for a variety of people and for the extraordinary challenges and satisfaction they bring. He loves that he can pursue his interest in science, while helping patients address their medical needs. Dr. Hughes feels confident diagnosing and treating illnesses, but also in educating patients about staying healthy and avoiding injury.
Dr. Hughes fell in love with the West Coast while practicing medicine in San Francisco, CA. He would often visit Bend to climb and kayak. He ended up liking Central Oregon so much that he decided to make it his home. When he’s not in the office, Dr. Hughes enjoys rock and ice climbing, running and kayaking. He also enjoys cooking, movies, music and art.
