Mark Belza, MD, FACS

Mark Belza, MD, FACS, is a member of Summit Health’s Neurosurgery team. Dr. Belza completed his undergraduate degree at the University of California, Berkeley and completed his medical education at University of Nevada, Reno. His internship and residency training in general surgery and neurosurgery were completed at Stanford University School of Medicine in Palo Alto, CA.

Dr. Belza has a wide range of neurosurgical expertise. He treats disorders of the brain and spine, cervical, thoracic and lumbar degenerative disease, spinal stenosis and compression, herniated discs, and various conditions relating to the brain, spine, and peripheral nerves.

Dr. Belza is passionate and dedicated to providing his patients with the most compassionate care possible while using cutting-edge technology. He has been at the forefront of research on minimally invasive spinal procedures to treat neck and lower back pain. He served as president of the Oregon Neurosurgical Society in 1999 and 2000 and pioneered the development of the sports head injury program (ImPACT) for high school athletes in Central Oregon.

Dr. Belza is a member of the American Association of Neurological Surgeons, Congress of Neurological Surgeons, Stanford Hanbery Neurosurgical Society, and the Western Neurosurgical Society.

With nearly three decades of experience working as a neurosurgeon in Bend, OR, Dr. Belza looks forward to continuing to focus on the brain and spine health of our community.
Outside of work, Dr Belza enjoys cycling, tennis, photography, playing piano, gardening, travel, and family time.
