Our Urology department specializes in the evaluation and treatment of disorders of the urinary tract such as problems occurring in the bladder, kidney, ureter, urethra and male reproductive system.

Common Conditions

Urological Cancers

Urologic cancers include cancers of the kidney, bladder, prostate and testicles. Prostate cancer, for example, affects one out of every six men at some time in his life — most often after age 50.

Kidney Stones

Kidney stones are small, hard deposits that form inside of your kidneys. Kidney stones are made of mineral; most commonly calcium and acid salts. Kidney stones have many potential causes.

Incontinence and Overactive Bladder

Urinary incontinence — the loss of bladder control — is a common and often embarrassing problem. The severity of urinary incontinence ranges from occasionally leaking urine when you cough or sneeze, to having an urge to urinate that’s so sudden and strong you don’t make it to a toilet in time.

Urinary Tract Infections

A Urinary Tract Infection (UTI) is an infection that begins in your urinary system. Your urinary system is composed of the kidneys, ureters, bladder and urethra. Any part of your urinary system can become infected, but most infections involve the lower urinary tract — the urethra and the bladder.

Pediatric Urology

Our Urology department also offers urologic care to children for conditions such as infections, reflux, hydronephrosis, dysfunctional voiding, bedwetting, circumcision, undescended testicle, testicular torsion, and hydrocele.

Vasectomy

A Vasectomy is a simple surgery that provides birth control for men. A vasectomy prevents you from getting your partner pregnant by cutting and sealing the tubes that carry sperm into your semen. The surgery is straightforward and has a low risk of problems.

Male Sexual Health

Male sexual health encompasses erectile dysfunction as well as hypogonadism. Erectile dysfunction (ED) is defined as the inability to attain or maintain an erection satisfactory for intercourse.

BPH/Benign Prostate Hyperplasia

Prostate gland enlargement is a common condition as men get older. Also called benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH) and prostatic hypertrophy, prostate gland enlargement can cause bothersome urinary symptoms.
